Thuasne Masterclass

Macrogeometry and the optimised design and function in Composite AFOs.

This presentation discusses two case studies which help the prescriber to formulate orthotic treatment plans by applying the fundamentals scientific knowledge.

Attend this masterclass if you have seen composite AFO failures and to gain new knowledge on AFO prescription based on biomechanical function and neurological deficit.

At a glance:
We will consider Normalised motion and implicit motor learning
You will see the significant functional changes possible between AFO types.
Leads into further knowledge transfer in subsequent sessions.

Clinical differentiation and prescription choice.

Simple assessment techniques to help you choose the most appropriate orthosis for end-user presentation and wishes.

Attend this session if you wish to improve your clinical differentiation of AFO requirement based on presentation, assessment and social circumstances.

At a glance:
Understand “why” and “how” to choose the correct AFO type
Ensure better value based treatment and outcomes.
Leads into further knowledge transfer in subsequent sessions.

Sprystep AFO Family fitting and tuning; best practices.

A stock AFO is often a good start for an optimsed outcome, but can often be improved by simple modification.

Attend this session if you would like to take advantage of a key design specification of the Sprystep Family: Ground reaction Force Tuning.

At a glance:
You have chosen the correct AFO, but you are not totally convinced that it is working to 100% of its potential?
Altering the function of the afo can positively affect function in neuro and neuro-orthopaedic groups.
